How long are the lessons?
The lessons are at most 10 minutes per day, 5 days a week. Babies (crawling) 6-12 months old learn in aproximatley 4 weeks & children (walking) 1-6 years old learn in 6-7 weeks. Some students require less or more time, as lessons progress we will be in constant communication.
Where are lessons taught? Oviedo. I do travel in the mornings 8:30-9:30 only, these lessons prices vary on location, I only travel in the Oviedo & Winter Springs area. Please email or text to discuss prior to signing up.
What are refresher lessons?
After their initial training, it is recommended that each child participate in Refresher lessons every 6-12 months. Because children’s bodies change as they get bigger, Refresher lessons are necessary to sharpen and refine their skills.
Why can't I be in the water with my child during lessons?
We do not want the baby to initially associate love and affection of the parent with the water. Also, it takes incredible concentration and objectivity to teach the baby how to react to an aquatic emergency and our research shows that parents lack the objectivity to be effective teachers with their own children in the water.
Will my child cry during lessons?
The first weeks in lessons for a beginner are a critical time of adaptation to the new environment, the instructor, and the technique. It can be a time of apprehension in and around the water because your child has not had time to perfect his or her new skills. Some of the babies cry because crying is a form of infant communication. Each child is an individual and reacts to the lessons uniquely. Some never cry and most children stop crying when they become skilled in the water. It is very important that the parent sets the example by keeping a positive tone when at lessons and when discussing lessons with or around the child.

Why do I have to fill out the BUDS sheet?
- BUDS forms are only for children under the age of 1 year. For your child's well-being and comfort, prior to each lesson you receive BUDS (bowel, urine, diet, sleep) forms. This sheet tracks the unique physiology of your child, including bowel movements, frequency of urination, diet and meal-times, and the duration of every sleep episode in a 24-hour period. Before each lesson, your ISR instructor will review the BUDS sheet and ask you further questions if necessary, and then individualize the lesson for your child. If your instructor feels any of these key measurements are not as they should be, your child's lesson will not take place. The BUDS sheet ensures your child learns in a healthy and safe environment.
